It is used both for medical and cosmetic ends. Hemp Seed oil is very nutritious and contains antioxidants, protein, carotene, phytosterol, phospholipids, as well as a number of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, iron, zinc, and phosphorus. It is a source of complete proteins and contains all twenty known amino acids, including the nine essential amino acids. It contains the following vitamins as well: A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D en E. The green color in Hemp Seed oil is a result of the high level of Chlorophyll*, which is naturally present in the seeds. The most appreciated feature of Hemp Seed oil may be the percentage of essential fatty acids, which is higher than any other plant in the world. It contains both Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acids in a proportion of 3:1.
*Characteristics of Chlorophyll: cleans the bowels and the liver, basifies the blood (de-acidifying effect), has a pain relieving effect for people with a chronic inflammation of the pancreas, stimulates the production of red blood cells and helps to avoid anemia.
