Botanic INCI: Cymbopogon Citratus Leaf Oil

Synonym: East Indian lemongrass, Andropogon flexuosus, Cochin lemongrass, native lemongrass, British India lemongrass, France Indian verbena 

Description: Lemongrass, is a fast growing, tall, aromatic perennial grass up to 1.5 metres high, producing a network of roots and rootlets that rapidly exhaust the soil. 

Extraction: Cymbopogon flexuosus Oil is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation from the fresh and partially dried leaves (grass), finely chopped Lemon Grass, Cymbopogon flexuosus, Poaceae. 

Applications: 

  • Aromatherapy applications
  • Component used in cosmetics

Properties: Analgesic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, anti-oxidant, antipyretic, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, febrifuge, fungididal, galactagogue, insecticidal, nervine, sedative (nervous) & tonic.  

Helps with: Acne, athlete’s foot, excessive perspiration, insect repellent (fleas, lice, ticks), open pores, pediculosis, scabies, tissue toner, muscular pain, poor circulation and muscle tone, slack tissue, colitis, indigestion, gastro-enteritis, fevers, infectious disease, headaches, nervous, exhaustion & stress related conditions.
