Description: Cosmetic Grade Fractionated Palm Oil. MCT = medium chain triglycerides. Many offer this palm-derived product as coconut-derived because the triglyceride composition of fractionated palm and coconut is nearly identical.
However, this cosmetic oil, fractionated (MCT), is palm-derived. The fractionation process gives you an oil in a liquid form, unlike refined coconut oil which is a butter form at room temperature.
Personal care manufacturers like to use this product for its liquid form as it is easier to handle and does not require melting, unlike when using refined coconut oil. It is a super emollient and fantastic base oil to carry your formulation. Due to the fractionation process, it is a very stable oil that can therefore be rigorously processed into formulations.
